Support for Dispatching Educational Instructors and Improving Corporate Environment
The city of Daejeon awarded plaques to 12 women-friendly companies on the 26th, in recognition of their efforts to create a work environment conducive to women and to foster a workplace culture that balances work and life.
The city accepted applications from companies with 30 or more employees that employ at least 20% women, or from companies employing at least 20 women that actively implement employment equality and work-life balance policies. The final selections were made through on-site inspections and evaluations.
The city plans to support the selected women-friendly companies by dispatching workplace education instructors, improving corporate environments, and assisting with company promotions.
Jang Hojong, Deputy Mayor for Economic Science Affairs of Daejeon, said, "Creating a women-friendly work environment is a key task to prevent career interruptions among female talent and to overcome the low birth rate," adding, "We hope that women-friendly companies will have a positive impact on local businesses."
