Shinhwa member Lee Min-woo publicly criticized acquaintances who expressed disappointment at not being invited to his play and expected free tickets. From the 21st to the 24th, the play 'Les Mis?rables' was performed at the National Theater's Haerum Theater, where Lee Min-woo played the role of the student revolutionary Marius. He explained, "(Les Mis?rables) celebrities, acquaintances, and even family members who came to watch all contacted me first to congratulate me and purchased their tickets on their own."
He then scolded acquaintances who seemed to expect free tickets, saying, "Let's keep some manners." 'Les Mis?rables' was Lee Min-woo's first challenge in theater after 26 years since his debut. His agency, Lin Branding, stated, "Lee Min-woo, who has taken his first serious step as an actor, plans to be active in various fields such as music, entertainment, and art."
Meanwhile, Lee Min-woo also gained attention for a past incident where he was a victim of gaslighting by a former broadcast writer. The writer approached Lee Min-woo, claiming, "I have connections inside the prosecution and can help you be cleared of charges," and was indicted for extorting about 2.6 billion KRW and 218 luxury items. At the time, the writer psychologically dominated Lee Min-woo, who was suffering from sexual harassment allegations, and repeatedly verbally abused him with terms like "human trash" and "fraudster."
As a result, Lee Min-woo suffered mental distress, and the court recognized the gaslighting victimization and sentenced the writer to nine years in prison. Last year, Lee Min-woo recalled the situation on a broadcast, saying, "It's not strangers but close people who deceive you," and "In my case, I suffered not only fraud but also severe gaslighting."
