Dispatch of Seasonal Workers, Conveying Difficulties of Korean Companies
"Will Expand Economic, Social, and Cultural Exchanges with Overseas Cities"
Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, visited the cities of Tam Ky and Da Nang in Vietnam from the 19th to the 22nd upon official invitation to discuss ways to promote friendship, economic cooperation, and mutual development.

During his visit to Tam Ky, Mayor Jung proposed dispatching local seasonal workers to address the labor shortage in Pyeongtaek's rural areas. Nguyen Huu An, Mayor of Tam Ky, responded, "The Tam Ky government will directly manage everything from the selection of seasonal workers to any issues that may arise during their stay after dispatch, and will actively cooperate to make this a model case for seasonal worker dispatch."
The two cities also agreed to share plans for operating English and Korean language education programs at Tam Ky's request.
In Da Nang, Mayor Jung met with Nguyen Van Quang, Party Secretary, to discuss cooperation in economic and cultural fields. At this meeting, Mayor Jung conveyed the difficulties heard during visits to Korean companies operating in Da Nang and requested special attention and support for Korean businesses.
Mayor Jung stated, "We will continue to strive for mutual development in various fields such as economy, society, and culture through exchanges with overseas cities."
