Network Management Knowledge Generative AI Provided Through Conversation
AI Applied to Customer Service Tasks... Suggesting Action Methods
KT is introducing artificial intelligence (AI) into its network management operations to enhance operational efficiency and service stability.
On the 26th, KT announced that it will introduce AI-integrated network support systems such as 'AI Meister' and 'AI Operator' to promote a transition to a new network operation system.
AI Meister is a generative AI that assists in the software management of network equipment. This system consists of four 'prompt engines'?suggesting corrective actions, system diagnosis, status interpretation, and technical knowledge search. It provides the knowledge necessary for overall network operation in a conversational format.
By using this, even employees unfamiliar with management tasks can perform their duties smoothly. Additionally, since information generated from the network is diagnosed in real time, it enhances service stability. AI Meister has been applied to core network equipment in the wired sector and is planned to be expanded to all network equipment, including wireless, in the future.
AI Operator is a system that assists with the physical management of network equipment. It combines the functions of the Mobile Operation Support System (MOSS) and the Safety Management System (NeMO). AI features such as system diagnosis and corrective action suggestions have been added to enable on-site management of customer services.
Reflecting feedback from employees working outdoors, the system input method will be changed from manual input to voice input (STT).
KT plans to evolve its network operation system into a form where AI monitors network traffic and abnormal patterns to detect signs of failure, analyze root causes, derive corrective measures, and automatically apply them.
O Taek-gyun, Executive Director of KT’s Network Operation Headquarters, stated, "We will continuously improve user-perceived quality and operational stability by utilizing AI."
