The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) announced on the 26th that it will hold a secondary school teachers' concert and exhibition to strengthen school arts education centered on the curriculum and to enhance teachers' expertise in arts education.

The concert will be held at 6 p.m. on the 28th at the Gyeonggi Arts High School Gyeonggi Art Hall, and the exhibition will be held at the Gyeonggi Education Welfare Comprehensive Center from the opening ceremony at 5 p.m. on the 26th until December 2.


The "30th Gyeonggi Teachers' Art Exhibition and the 10th Teacher-Student Joint Exhibition" will display works created by 186 students from 10 schools in classes and clubs. Additionally, works in ▲Korean painting ▲Western painting ▲sculpture ▲printmaking ▲craft ▲watercolor ▲calligraphy by 57 art teachers, veteran teachers, administrators, and education professionals will be exhibited.


The "2024 Gyeonggi Secondary School Teachers' Concert" features 7 teams of 12 teachers selected through an open call among secondary music teachers performing ▲piano solo ▲vocal solo (male, female) ▲haegeum solo ▲piano duo ▲piano trio ▲original compositions.


In particular, two fusion works were created, including "The Day the Petals Shake," a collaboration between music and art teachers under the theme of "Coexistence and Diversity."


The music composed by the music teacher inspired the art teacher, who expressed the artistic inspiration evoked by listening to the music in paintings, and both the concert performance and the exhibition of works will be held together.


Hyun Gye-myeong, head of the Convergence Education Policy Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, said, "The concert and exhibition are places where teachers' artistic growth is achieved through creation and collaboration," adding, "We will strengthen school arts education by developing a convergence arts education model that nurtures students' artistic sensibility."
