This project, a pledge in the childcare sector of the 8th local government administration, aims to spread a culture of play within homes and strengthen support for home childcare.

The province will provide 2,220 households with children aged 0 to 23 months with three sensory exploration items: sensory tissues, Oball, and tactile rings. Coaching videos containing usage methods and play ideas will be provided together, and families who wish can also receive play support from play instructors assigned to each city and county.

Applications can be submitted online through the childcare comprehensive support center website in the applicant’s city or county from the 28th of this month until December 6th. Selection will be based on priority: first priority goes to vulnerable groups (basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups), second priority to home childcare families (not using daycare centers), and third priority to families with infants and toddlers in Gyeonggi Province who use daycare centers.

Earlier in November, 2,220 households with children aged 24 to 47 months were supported. The province plans to continue the educational materials and toys delivery service project for home childcare infants and toddlers in the province in 2025 as well.

Kim Jin-hyo, Director of the Childcare Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “Exploring and purchasing educational materials and toys suitable for a child’s developmental stage takes a lot of time and financial burden for parents,” adding, “We will reduce parents’ worries and help children grow healthily by continuing and expanding this service until 2027 in accordance with Gyeonggi Province’s 4th Mid-to-Long-Term Childcare Basic Plan.”
