Guri City Councilor Kim Han-seul Enacts 'Guri City School Attraction Support Ordinance'

Numerous Economic Benefits Including Influx of Young Population and Promotion Effects for Guri City

The Guri City Council of Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Shin Dong-hwa) approved the "Guri City School Attraction Support Ordinance," proposed by Councilor Kim Han-seul, as originally drafted at the 4th plenary session of the 2nd regular meeting of the 342nd session on the 25th.

The ordinance was prepared with the aim of developing Guri City into a vibrant and lively young educational city by attracting a young population through improving the educational environment and creating an advanced educational city.

The ordinance includes △ the purpose and definition related to school attraction support △ the target for school attraction support △ assignment of dedicated public officials △ school attraction support projects △ post-management of attracted schools △ establishment and composition of the School Attraction Committee.

Prior to the enactment of the ordinance, Councilor Kim Han-seul held a consultation meeting for ordinance enactment on September 10th at the Guri City Council Special Committee Room, attended by officials in charge from the Guri City Lifelong Learning Division, Urban Development Division, and Guri Office of Education, reflecting field opinions in the ordinance to enhance its completeness.

Councilor Kim Han-seul said, “Attracting schools under this ordinance has invisible economic ripple effects such as attracting a young population and promoting Guri City,” adding, “Talented individuals should gather in Guri City, grow properly, and become the future pillars of Guri City. The local community must work together to attract schools according to this ordinance.”
