This event was organized to honor the dedication of workers committed to elderly welfare in the field and to advance community welfare services through education aimed at enhancing their professionalism.
The ceremony was attended by over 100 people, including Mayor Bang Se-hwan, members of the National Assembly, the chairperson of the city council, city council members, the president of the Gwangju Social Welfare Council, key guests, association officials, and long-term care facility workers.
The commemoration ceremony included awards for outstanding workers and specialized training to strengthen their capabilities. Thirty exemplary workers who have devoted themselves to elderly welfare were recognized for their efforts.
In the subsequent professional capacity-building training, participants were provided with practical assistance that they could apply in their daily work.
Park Bo-hyun, the association president, stated, “The passion and dedication of the workers are the driving force behind creating a happy daily life for the elderly,” adding, “The association will continue to do its best to enhance workers’ professionalism and improve their working environment.”
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “Your dedication is the core of creating a ‘Hopeful Change, Happy City Gwangju,’” and added, “Gwangju City will continuously support and cooperate for the development of elderly welfare facilities.”
