Namyangju City and Ulaanbaatar City, Mongolia, Conduct International Youth Exchange

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 25th that it is hosting a youth exchange delegation from its sister city, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, for exchange activities over a 7-night, 8-day period from the 23rd to the 30th.

This exchange activity was arranged as a reciprocal gesture following the participation of Namyangju youth in the international youth camp held in Ulaanbaatar last August.


The Ulaanbaatar youth exchange delegation will explore major historical and cultural sites in Namyangju and Seoul, experiencing both traditional and modern Korean culture.


The main schedule includes △ 3D printer experience at Wabu Library Imagination Workshop △ Korean cultural experience at Jeong Yak-yong Fun Ground △ Courtesy meeting at Namyangju City Hall △ Youth exchange activities at Jinjeop Fun Ground △ Visits to Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site, Hongyureung, Bongseonsa Temple, and Gyeongbokgung Palace.


A Namyangju city official stated, “We hope this youth exchange will serve as an opportunity for the youths of both cities to respect and understand each other’s cultures.”


Meanwhile, since signing the sister city agreement with Ulaanbaatar in October 1998, Namyangju has conducted a total of 34 youth exchanges from 2000 to the present, and plans to continue efforts to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two cities.
