Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it will promote an organic agricultural materials support project that encourages the reduction of pesticide and chemical fertilizer use by providing support for the purchase of organic agricultural materials and green manure crop seeds until December 30.
This project aims to reduce the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers and contribute to soil fertility improvement by supporting the purchase of green manure crop seeds and organic agricultural materials, as well as the cost of fertilization prescription consulting.
The support targets are agricultural management entities registered with agricultural management information, farmland intended for cultivating green manure crop seeds, farmland where organic agricultural materials will be used, and farmland wishing to receive support for soil testing and fertilization prescription consultation costs. Applications can be submitted by visiting the industrial team at the administrative welfare center of the town or township with jurisdiction over the farmland location.
The support limit is 2 million KRW per hectare, 1.5 million KRW for pesticide-free farmland, and 1 million KRW for general (conventional) farmland, with 50% of the confirmed project amount being supported. Only products announced as organic agricultural materials by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service are supported.
A Yeoncheon-gun official stated, “By supporting organic agricultural materials, we will reduce the financial burden on farmers and encourage the reduction of pesticide and chemical fertilizer use, and Yeoncheon-gun will do its best to support clean agricultural activities.”
