Participation in Large-Scale Project to Create 'Seoridangil' in Seo-gu, Busan for the 'Local Issue Resolution' Sector
The College of Business Administration at Dong-A University (Dean Choi Gyu-hwan) announced on the 25th that the marketing club ‘Beta Gamma Sigma,’ led by Professor Seo Joo-hwan from the Department of Business Administration, has been selected for the Youth Vitality Project organized by the Seo-gu Office of Busan.
Beta Gamma Sigma was selected in the ‘Local Problem Solving’ category, and from the 1st of this month until February 28th next year, all 61 club members will participate in this large-scale project.
Through this ‘Seoridangil’ project, Dong-A University’s Beta Gamma Sigma plans to actively promote Seo-gu, Busan using social media and transform it into a memorable street for visitors.
Professor Seo Joo-hwan, who planned this Seo-gu Youth Vitality Project, will serve as co-representative to develop the Seoridangil area in Seo-gu, Busan.
Seoridangil is not about creating a new street but is inspired by the ‘win-win perspective’ of connecting existing streets. This is an extension of the ‘BADA Meets New Digital Era’ corporate exploration theme conducted by the Department of Business Administration at Dong-A University last July, approaching the local issues of Seo-gu, Busan from a digital perspective based on recent digital trends.
Professor Seo said, “We aim to create a cultural street where culture, history, and youth (university) coexist, connecting Amidong Monument Village, Jayu Children’s Theater, the Temporary Capital Memorial Hall, and Dong-A University’s Seokdang Museum, to revitalize the Seo-gu commercial district and address the issue of regional extinction.”
The youth representative of this project, Lee Se-beom (Master’s student, Department of Business Administration, Year 1), said, “I want to make Seo-gu, which is facing the crisis of regional extinction, a place people want to visit and turn it into the most memorable representative street.”
Youth co-representative Lim Jae-i (Department of Business Administration, Year 4) said, “Beta Gamma Sigma will look at problems from the perspective of youth and actively work to create an attractive Seo-gu where young people can genuinely be drawn in. I hope that through Seoridangil, Seo-gu and Dong-A University, where I live and study, will be rebranded as vibrant and youthful areas.”
