"Demography, Practiced Through Imagination"... Uljin-gun Thursday Special Lecture Held

Uljin County, Gyeongbuk, will hold the 26th Thursday Special Lecture on the 28th at the Uljin County Office main conference room.

This special lecture will feature Professor Cho Young-tae from the Graduate School of Public Health at Seoul National University, presenting under the theme "Demography, Practicing Imagination."

Professor Cho currently serves as a professor at the Graduate School of Public Health at Seoul National University and as the director of the Seoul National University Population Policy Research Center. He is also well known for his systematic research on population issues and policies in our society, having served as a private member of the Presidential Committee on Aging Society and Population Policy until 2023.

In this special lecture, under the theme "Demography, Practicing Imagination," the discussion will focus on how to creatively and innovatively propose solutions to the rapidly changing population structure and the resulting social challenges. Professor Cho will provide insights on how we can use imagination to prepare for and respond to future population issues in a society experiencing population decline and aging.

The lecture content is designed to stimulate imagination on how to solve various social problems from a demographic perspective. It will explore policy ideas to address low birth rates, the establishment of social systems to prepare for an aging society, and ways for local communities and the economy to grow together, presenting methods to realize these in practical ways.

County Governor Son Byung-bok stated, "I hope this special lecture will provide a new perspective on the rapidly changing population environment and offer an opportunity to seek creative and practical solutions," adding, "I expect the audience to exercise their imagination through this lecture and gain important insights to prepare for the future of our region and society."
