Taean County Chief Ga Se-ro: "Will Lay the Foundation for Becoming the Central Axis of the Pan-Yellow Sea Region" On the 25th, Gase Ro, the mayor of Taean County, Chungnam, delivering a policy speech at the "308th Taean County Council 2nd Regular Meeting" held in the main conference room of the Taean County Council in Chungnam. /Taean County

Gase-ro, the Governor of Taean County, Chungnam, expressed his determination for next year regarding regional economic revitalization and the discovery of new businesses through a policy speech at the 308th Taean County Council 2nd regular session held at the council's main hall on the 25th.


Governor Ga stated, "This year, we achieved many accomplishments in various fields, including the opening of the 'Family Empathy Center,' which is considered the best facility in the country, the proclamation of 'Gyeokryeolbiyeoldo Day,' the opening of the 'Taean Five-Day Market,' and the opening of the 'Anmyeon Imagination Library Life SOC Complex Facility.' Next year, which is effectively the last year of the 8th popularly elected administration, I will take the lead in driving core strategies for Taean's greater leap forward."


The county is determined to make next year the starting point for connecting Taean's metropolitan transportation network by ensuring the inclusion of the 'Taean-Seosan Expressway' in the 3rd Expressway Construction Plan, which is the core of the Gwanggaeto Mega Project, and the inclusion of the 'Naepo and Chungcheong Inland Railway' in the 5th National Railway Network Construction Plan.


In addition, the county will thoroughly prepare for the '2026 International Horticultural Healing Expo,' which has received international event approval and AIPH certification. At the same time, in response to the phased closure of Taean Thermal Power Plant starting next year, the county will urge the government to construct 'alternative energy power plants' and will focus on discovering and fostering new alternative industries such as offshore wind power generation complexes.


Furthermore, the 'Taean Marine Healing Center' currently under construction in Nam-myeon will officially open in September next year after a trial operation, promoting the name of 'Taean, the Marine Healing City.' For the development of Anheung Outer Port, the 'CLEAN Fishing Port Development Project,' and the 'Yeongmok Port National Fishing Port Development Project,' the county will continue consultations with related agencies to ensure that the opinions of residents are fully reflected.


The county plans to establish the 'Food Foundation Corporation,' the final piece of the 'Taean County Food Plan' next year, and simplify the application procedures for agricultural support projects to alleviate the inconvenience of farmers and ensure timely farming operations.


For the 'Public Seasonal Worker System,' which has greatly helped alleviate the labor shortage in fishing and farming households, the county will seek to expand its operation next year. The county also plans to actively participate in various public contest projects such as 'Restoration of the Clean Fishing Grounds in Geunheung Waters,' 'Establishment of Octopus Spawning Habitats,' and 'Creation of Sea Forests' to secure a sustainable fisheries base.


Additionally, the county will focus on revitalizing the old downtown and traditional markets through improvements to the operation of the Taean Five-Day Market and the facilities of traditional markets. The county will also begin a preliminary feasibility study for the creation of the 'Iwon Industrial Complex' in the area near the closed Taean Thermal Power Plant, seeking strategies to attract new industrial complexes.


To address population decline, the county will implement the 'Taean I The Dream Project' with a total budget of 5.6 billion KRW. Through this, the county will provide additional support for infant and toddler meal and snack expenses, support child and youth growth and development checkups using AI technology, and introduce the 'The Dream Allowance' system, providing a monthly childcare voucher of 200,000 KRW to the parents of approximately 2,490 children aged 3 to 11.


The senior job creation project, which secured the largest budget in the province at 21.9 billion KRW and recorded the highest number of participants in the province for five consecutive years, will benefit 5,467 seniors next year, an increase of 350 from this year. The 'Side Dish Delivery Project,' which is uniquely implemented in Taean among local community service investment projects nationwide, will significantly expand its service recipients and duration due to high resident satisfaction.


In addition, to ease the economic burden on people with disabilities, the county will introduce new systems for 'supporting the purchase of hygiene products' and 'supporting disability diagnosis and examination costs.' The county will also create a happy community in Taean by promoting customized support and family-focused policies for various types of households, including single-person households.


The county has designated next year as the 'Year of Visiting Taean' and plans to maximize Taean's unique strengths in horticulture, healing, and the sea to establish the image of 'Taean, a tourism city leading the life of healing.'


Furthermore, the county will solidify the image of Taean as a pet-friendly tourism city and seek ways to improve the efficiency of beach operations for qualitative improvement. At the same time, the county will steadily promote the construction of the 'Mallipo-nia Marine Leisure Safety Education Center,' 'Surfing Specialized Facility,' and 'Complex Marine Leisure Tourism Facility,' taking the lead in branding Mallipo.


Moreover, for Anheungjinseong, which has achieved the result of opening to the public, the county will complete repairs for its intended use next year, prepare for the opening of the Dongmun area by the end of the year, and improve the residential environment of the fortress village. For Taean Eupseong, the county will complete the restoration of the southeastern fortress wall and the creation of the 'History and Culture Street' next year, showcasing tourism resources that blend tradition and modernity.


The county will complete the 'Nam-myeon Indoor Gymnasium' by October next year, commence construction of the 'Geunheung-myeon Indoor Gymnasium,' 'Wonbuk Dachaum Sports Center,' and 'Taean Bandabi Sports Center' next year, and accelerate the creation of park golf courses in the southern, central, and northern regions.


The county will create conditions for organizational change through a professional organizational diagnosis next year, reorganize spaces within the main office to provide prompt administrative services, and complete the construction of the Wonbuk-myeon Administrative Welfare Center by the end of this year to provide high-quality administrative services.


Additionally, the county will significantly increase the disaster safety budget by 12.9% to implement 'Disaster Safety and Coastal Safety Leading Projects' and 'Safe Return Home Environment Creation Projects,' and will introduce 10 multifunctional CCTVs on a trial basis to serve as safety guardians.


Governor Gase-ro stated, "The budget proposal submitted to the county council for next year amounts to a total of 734.1 billion KRW, a 7.4% increase from this year. As the budget has been formulated with the earnest hopes and wishes of the residents, I will make every effort to ensure that it is used transparently and without waste."


He added, "We will lay the foundation for Taean to overcome the limitations of the peninsula and grow into a central city of the Yellow Sea region in the era of local autonomy, and we will firmly support the local economy to make Taean a city that is good to live in and a city people want to visit. I will do my utmost until the end so that Taean's future for the next 100 years, with residents at its center, can be fully opened."
