Nongshim's 'Baeksansu' Price Increase After 7 Years... Convenience Store Price 950 Won → 1000 Won

Nongshim is raising the price of Baeksansu for the first time in 7 years.

According to the food industry on the 25th, Nongshim will increase the ex-factory price of Baeksansu by 9.9% starting from the 1st of next month. The selling prices at large supermarkets and convenience stores are expected to rise sequentially.

At large supermarkets, the price of Baeksansu 500㎖ will increase by 50 won (11.6%) from 430 won to 480 won.

In convenience stores, the price of Baeksansu 500㎖ will be raised by 50 won (5.2%) from 950 won to 1000 won.

A Nongshim official explained, "Due to a sharp increase in overall management costs involved in the manufacturing, import, and sales of Baeksansu, we decided to raise the ex-factory price," adding, "In particular, maritime logistics costs have surged by about 90% compared to 2018."

This price increase comes after 6 years and 11 months since 2018. Nongshim had previously raised the average ex-factory price of Baeksansu by 7.8% in January 2018.

Meanwhile, Nongshim also plans to increase the ex-factory price of Welch's soda (Welch's) 355㎖ cans by 7.6% starting December 1.
