Meeting Personal Data Regulation Requirements of Major Countries Worldwide
Ensuring Compliance with International Standards
Channel Corporation, the operator of the AI messenger ‘Channel Talk,’ announced on the 25th that it has obtained four information security certifications established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
ISO information security certifications are international standards for information protection management systems and are among the most authoritative international certifications in the field. Channel Corporation acquired certifications for ▲Information Security Management System (ISO 27001) ▲Privacy Information Management System (ISO 27701) ▲Cloud Security Management System (ISO 27017) ▲Cloud Privacy Management System (ISO 27018).
ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 are information security qualifications that require establishing measures to prevent and respond to information asset and personal data leaks in cloud service environments. By obtaining these two certifications, Channel Talk has met strict cloud security standards.
In particular, ISO 27701, an extension of ISO 27001, can only be acquired after passing an assessment of 84 control items and the appropriateness of protection activities throughout the lifecycle of personal information. Channel Talk demonstrated its stability by achieving ISO 27701 through high-level personal information protection activities.
Channel Corporation had already obtained the ‘Information Security Management System (ISMS)’ certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) under the Ministry of Science and ICT last year, which is granted based on 80 certification criteria and rigorous assessments, verifying its top-tier information protection and management capabilities in Korea.
With the acquisition of these international standard certifications, Channel Corporation now meets the stringent personal data regulatory requirements of major countries worldwide, securing the international standard compliance of its services. This is expected to further accelerate Channel Talk’s global expansion efforts.
Choi Si-won, CEO of Channel Corporation, said, “The acquisition of these four ISO certifications proves that Channel Talk has established high standards for security. We will continue to strive to build a secure security management system so that customers can use Channel Talk with confidence.”
