Daegu City Council member Lee Seong-o (People Power Party, Suseong-gu 3) announced on the 24th that he has taken the lead in proposing the "Daegu Metropolitan City Support Ordinance for Safety Vulnerable Groups" at the 313th regular session.
This ordinance was proposed with the aim of protecting those vulnerable to safety, such as children, the elderly, and the disabled, from disasters and various accidents, and creating a living environment where safety can be secured.
The main contents include safety inspections and improvements of fire, gas, and electrical facilities, environmental improvements to secure safety in vulnerable areas such as children protection zones, provision of necessary safety equipment or supplies for disaster and accident prevention, implementation of customized safety education for each target group, and support for the installation of safety facilities that facilitate disaster evacuation, such as operable security windows.
Council member Lee Seong-o said, "Safety vulnerable groups are highly likely to suffer damage due to physical and environmental limitations in the event of disasters and accidents, so social interest and protection are necessary," and added, "I hope this ordinance will serve as a safety device that protects them from various disasters and accidents."
