Hwaseong-si Secures 439,000㎡ of Industrial Complex Space

First Allocation of 8.38 Million ㎡ Secured by Gyeonggi-do Over 3 Years
"Responding to Corporate Demand Through Planned Industrial Complex Development"

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it has been allocated 439,000㎡ of industrial complex space from Gyeonggi Province this year.

This industrial complex allocation is the first portion assigned out of the total 8,382,000㎡ allocated to Gyeonggi Province by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for the three years from this year through 2026.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport allocates industrial complex space to Gyeonggi Province in three-year cycles. The allocated volume is distributed by Gyeonggi Province to each city and county after comprehensively reviewing the appropriateness of each project and physical location criteria through the local industrial site review committee. Each local government can develop industrial complexes only within the allocated volume according to the metropolitan area factory total quantity system.

Previously, Hwaseong City submitted an application for volume approval to the Gyeonggi Province Local Industrial Site Review Committee last month, and the volume allocation was approved conditionally as a result of the review.

The city plans to strengthen regional competitiveness by guiding demand for industrial facility sites through planned industrial complex development to prevent indiscriminate development and securing infrastructure in non-urban areas. The secured volume will be promptly processed through administrative procedures to promote industrial complex development projects in response to the increasing demand.
