Joo Gwang-deok Mayor "Will continue to support so that elderly with disabilities can enjoy a richer life"

The Gyeonggi-do Association for the Disabled Namyangju Branch (Branch Chief Choi Man-seok) held the ‘Exhibition of Works by Elderly Persons with Disabilities’ on the 22nd at the Elderly Persons with Disabilities Rest Area.

At the exhibition, various crafts created by the elderly were displayed, including △leather crafts △napkin art △hanji crafts △wood burning △DIY woodworking △sock crafts, as well as horticultural works.


Additionally, students from the trot janggu class performed janggu drum shows at the exhibition, adding special enjoyment for the visitors.


Now in its third year, the exhibition has become an important opportunity not only to display works but also to instill a sense of accomplishment and pride in the elderly and to strengthen their connection with society.


Branch Chief Choi Man-seok stated, “This exhibition is a very meaningful occasion where elderly persons with disabilities can communicate with the local community through their own works and experience the joy of self-realization. We will continue to promote the creative activities of the elderly so that their passion and efforts are conveyed throughout the community, and create various opportunities for elderly persons with disabilities to proudly demonstrate their value.”


Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju, said, “Seeing the works of the elderly, I could feel how valuable their efforts and passion have been, and I am very pleased to see the elderly growing together with the Rest Area.”


Mayor Joo Gwang-deok added, “We will continue to support elderly persons with disabilities so that they can experience the joy of self-realization through creative activities, communicate with the local community, and enjoy a richer life.”
