Incheon Airport Corporation "Innovation in Airport Industry and Power Industry in the AI Era"

Joint Conference Hosted with the Korea Economic Research Association

Incheon International Airport Corporation held an event discussing the innovation of airports in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

On the 22nd, Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that it had hosted the "AI Era Airport Industry and Strategic Industry Innovation Conference" the previous day at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Incheon, in collaboration with the Korea Economic Research Association.

Organized to explore development directions for securing future competitiveness in the AI era, the event was conducted in two sessions focusing on the airport industry and the power industry. Each session was divided into subtopics, with three presentations and discussions held for each.

The first presentation in the airport industry session was delivered by Seokhyun Son, Senior Researcher at Incheon International Airport Corporation, under the theme "The Future of Airports Changed by AI." He shared Incheon Airport's digital transformation plans, including ▲ convenient airports without queues ▲ 24-hour nonstop airports based on data ▲ airports without wasted time ▲ and seamless airports.

Hyunjin Jeong, Director of the Aerospace Industry-Academia Convergence Center, and Jongwon Hwang, Researcher at the Korea Productivity Center, presented and discussed topics on aviation safety management and logistics company cases utilizing AI.

Lee Hakjae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, stated, "Through this conference, we were able to review the current status of AI utilization in Korea's airport industry and explore future directions. Incheon Airport plans to lead global changes by establishing an AI innovation hub beyond the role of a simple airport."
