Creating an 'Industrial Complex with Culture' Where Youth Want to Live and Work
Hosting Youth Worker-Friendly Concerts by Visiting Companies Directly
On the 21st, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk hosted the 'Healing Concert for Workers with Jahwa Electronics,' organized by the Gumi branch of the Korea Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations (representative Lee Jeong-seop).
This concert was part of a project to create an 'industrial complex with culture' where young people want to live and work, designed to provide workers with a unique cultural and artistic experience by visiting workplaces directly.
This year's concert was held at Jahwa Electronics, which was selected following last year's event at Hanwha Systems, significantly contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. Since 2021, Jahwa Electronics has injected vitality into the regional economy with a new investment of 204 billion KRW and the hiring of 1,044 new employees.
The event began with an awards ceremony recognizing contributors to the win-win cooperation between Jahwa Electronics and the local community. This was followed by performances reflecting youthful sensibilities, including cheerleading, street dance, and hip-hop, which received enthusiastic responses from the workers.
In particular, considering that most employees are young people with an average age of 30, the concert featured a young and dynamic program that attracted great interest.
A representative of Jahwa Electronics commented, “Due to shift work, cultural life was not easy, but being able to enjoy high-quality performances at the workplace greatly increased employee satisfaction.”
Mayor Kim Jang-ho said, “We will continue to promote various cultural projects within the industrial complex so that young workers can take pride in living in Gumi.”
