Gwangju Transportation Corporation recently announced on the 22nd that it conducted an 'Emergency First Aid Expert Training' at its headquarters in Mareuk-dong, Seo-gu, to enhance the response capabilities of customer-facing employees during emergency situations.
This training was conducted by inviting a professional instructor from the Korean Red Cross and targeted subway station staff. It provided practical and vivid instruction on various emergency treatment methods that may occur in the field, including CPR theory and practice, use of automated external defibrillators, and how to respond to airway obstruction.
In particular, not only station staff responsible for safety management on site but also cleaning workers in charge of maintaining the station environment participated, which is expected to strengthen employees' prompt and accurate response capabilities in case of future emergencies.
Jo Ik-moon, President of Gwangju Transportation Corporation, said, “We are continuously providing professional training so that any employee can quickly respond to emergency situations,” adding, “We will continue to strive to enhance employees' first aid capabilities to ensure the safe operation of the urban railway.”
