The Glotel Awards, held on the 21st (local time) in London, UK, are organized by the global information and communication technology (ICT) research firm Informa. Innovative companies were selected across a total of 24 categories, including telecommunications services, infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), and marketing.

The Climate Protection Activity award is given to manufacturers or telecom companies that have demonstrated excellent eco-friendly activities such as energy savings through ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) technologies. SKT was recognized for its contributions to sustainability through its IPM technology.

IPM technology automatically adjusts the power consumption of key components used in telecom data center servers in real-time according to the customer's traffic volume and trends.

Traditional telecom data center virtual servers operate in maximum performance mode regardless of traffic volume, consuming the maximum power and carbon emissions from components. In contrast, IPM optimizes component power consumption based on traffic volume without compromising quality or performance, reducing cumulative CPU power consumption by up to 55% compared to conventional virtual servers.

Ryu Tak-gi, head of SKT's infrastructure technology division, said, "We will do our best to provide new value to customers through continuous research and development of core technologies for the evolution of mobile communications, including 6G."
