Hancom Innostream, a subsidiary of Hancom specializing in electronic document and reporting solutions, announced on the 22nd that it has obtained the industry's first patent for the 'Seal Recognition System and Method.'
The seal recognition system and method is a technology that allows the direct capture of a seal using a camera embedded in smart devices such as tablet PCs and mobile phones used for electronic contracts, and immediately inserts the captured image into the electronic document.
This technology addresses existing security issues where images of seals stamped on paper could be repeatedly used or tampered with. It is also expected to resolve the problem of having to use special paper or separate seal scanners for scanning seal images.
Hancom Innostream plans to apply this technology to its HTML5-based web electronic form solution, 'CLIP e-Form.' CLIP e-Form digitizes paper documents and supports input and signatures on various devices such as PCs, smartphones, and tablets. It is a solution that implements a paperless environment by storing documents electronically and is currently used by more than 1,000 institutions and companies in public sectors, finance, hospitals, and education.
Choi Sung, CEO of Hancom Innostream, stated, "This patent acquisition is one of the various achievements in digital transformation projects accumulated through building diverse electronic document development businesses. We will continue to strive to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technology to provide a more advanced electronic document experience and differentiated technological capabilities."
