The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it shot down two British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles launched from Ukraine.
On the 21st (local time), the Russian Ministry of Defense stated in its daily report on the special military operation in Ukraine that "Russian air defense systems shot down two Storm Shadow missiles, six rockets from the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), and 67 drones in the past 24 hours."
However, Russia did not disclose the locations where the Storm Shadow missiles were shot down.
Meanwhile, major foreign media reported that Ukraine conducted its first airstrike on Russian territory the previous day using Storm Shadow cruise missiles supplied by the UK. The target was the border region of Kursk. Although Ukraine has not officially confirmed the launch of Storm Shadow missiles to date, Russia's announcement effectively confirms their use.
On the 19th, a day earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense also revealed that Ukraine attacked military facilities in the Russian border region of Bryansk using the US-made long-range tactical ballistic missile ATACMS, intercepting five out of six missiles.
