The sponsorship funds were raised through a walking campaign by 1,291 group employees over 11 days starting from the 21st of last month. They walked a total of 120 million steps, exceeding the target step count of 100 million steps.
The donation will be used for facility improvements, parenting education, and cultural experience support for single mothers in the Busan area, where Dongkuk CM's business site is located. This is part of the group's local community support efforts, following environmental improvements for the Hinamno Child Center in Pohang in 2022 and Bongsoo Elementary School in Incheon in 2023.
Gwak Jin-su, Head of Strategy at Dongkuk Holdings, said, "We are pleased to be able to help the livelihoods of families lacking care who endure childbirth and parenting alone, even if only a little." He added, "We will continue to seek practical ways to support local communities and vulnerable groups."
