Hosted by Konkuk University Language Education Center... Customized Level-Based Classes with Native Teachers
Over 200 Participants to be Selected by Lottery from Gwangjin-gu Office Website Starting 28th... Tuition Fee 130,000 KRW, Full Free for Vulnerable Groups
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will operate the "Elementary School Winter Vacation English Camp" for 4th to 6th graders in the district starting January next year.
As the importance of early education in major subjects such as English and math grows, private education expenses per elementary student continue to rise.
Accordingly, the district collaborates with Konkuk University Language Education Center to run the winter vacation English camp every year to help reduce private education costs and promote public education.
This English camp will be held for 10 days from January 6 to 17 next year, excluding weekends. Classes will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions at Konkuk University Language Education Center, and participating students will receive level-based customized education with native-speaking teachers after placement tests.
The classes will be conducted under the theme of "Immersion English Education Based on Natural Science and Arts." In addition to basic English learning such as listening and speaking, various experiential activities are prepared to naturally enhance students' language skills, including ▲ group activities ▲ essay writing ▲ mission games.
In particular, Gwangjin-gu plans to provide an online learning program using a video English system so that students can continue their English studies after returning home.
Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. on the 28th until 1 p.m. on December 4 through the Gwangjin-gu Office website. Any 4th to 6th grader residing in Gwangjin-gu or attending an elementary school located in Gwangjin-gu can apply, and about 200 students will be selected by lottery after the application deadline.
The participation fee is 130,000 KRW, with the district supporting 240,000 KRW of the total tuition fee of 370,000 KRW. Students from vulnerable households such as basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income families can receive full tuition support within 10% of the participants.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "Through this English camp, we expect students to experience lively English with native-speaking teachers without going abroad," and added, "We hope many parents will show interest and participate in the Gwangjin-gu Elementary School Winter Vacation English Camp, which offers an opportunity to improve English skills in a short period at an affordable cost."
