Dong-A University Draws Attention with Employment Clubs 'Donga Leaders Club' and 'Donga Frontiers' Operation

20 Years of Job Club Expertise Presents 'Shortcut to Employment,' "Will Give Wings to Your Job Hunt"

Large-Scale Recruitment in Second Half, Two Job Camps Held on 14-16 and 21-23

Dong-A University’s employment clubs, ‘Dong-A Leaders Club’ and ‘Dong-A Frontiers,’ which have been ongoing for over 20 years, are attracting attention.

The Dong-A University University Job Plus Center (Director Shin Yong-taek) is conducting a large-scale recruitment of employment club members in the second half of the year following the first half, and is holding a 2-night, 3-day residential employment camp in Gyeongju from the 21st to the 23rd, following the camp held from the 14th to the 16th.

At the employment camp, students take time to establish their future employment plans through self-assessment of their job readiness.

During the camp, students are divided into groups to gain essential information and practical experience needed for employment, including job training by senior alumni, mock interviews (PT interviews and personality interviews), and resume editing.

The Dong-A University University Job Plus Center selected a total of 132 employment club members in September and operates them by dividing into science and engineering fields such as semiconductors, automobiles, aerospace defense, and steel, as well as business-related fields such as management support, finance, sales and marketing, trade logistics, and MICE, travel, and tourism.

Established in 2004, the ‘Dong-A Leaders Club’ serves as a kind of ‘special task force’ to help students break through the employment frontlines. To date, about 7,500 graduates have passed through the Dong-A Leaders Club.

To be selected for the employment clubs (Leaders Club and Frontiers), candidates must pass a strict selection process including document screening and interviews based on their academic grades and language scores. After selection, systematic support is provided through programs such as employment study groups and employment camps. Priority recommendation opportunities are also given when applying for jobs recommended by the Employment Support Office.

Support from seniors who have secured jobs through the employment clubs cannot be overlooked. They provide mentoring as well as know-how from job training at their companies to interview experiences.

Park Jin-hong (3rd year, Department of International Trade), a member of the 21-2nd term Dong-A Leaders Club, said, “Being selected for the employment club allows me to receive systematic employment education and mentoring provided by the school, making me feel as if I have already secured a job at the company I want.” He added, “I will work hard with my employment club friends to prepare for employment and successfully get hired by my target company.”

Shin Yong-taek, director of the Dong-A University University Job Plus Center, said, “The employment clubs (Leaders Club and Frontiers) are representative employment support programs of Dong-A University. They are both the starting point and the culmination of a virtuous cycle system where employed seniors participate directly as mentors.” He added, “We will continue to provide unwavering support to live up to the reputation as Dong-A University’s flagship employment program.”

Every year, Dong-A University’s employment clubs produce successful job seekers hired by preferred companies such as financial public enterprises (Industrial Bank of Korea, Korea Development Bank, Korea Asset Management Corporation, etc.) and large corporations (Samsung Electronics, POSCO, Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Rotem, KAI, LIG Nex1, etc.).
