The Gonggam e Gadeuk project is an initiative that leverages data and digital technology to enable local governments, businesses, and residents to collaborate in identifying and solving regional issues, thereby building resident-centered services and enhancing regional vitality.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute announced the Gonggam e Gadeuk project call for proposals in February this year and selected 10 local governments nationwide, including Dongducheon City, in April.

Dongducheon City applied with a project to establish a social safety net service that enables the police to respond quickly and locate missing socially vulnerable individuals such as children and dementia patients by utilizing intelligent CCTV, and was ultimately selected.

From May to November, a consortium was formed including dementia patient caregivers, citizen representatives, Dongducheon Police Station, and Seo Co., Ltd., to carry out the project of building a social safety net (platform) to protect socially vulnerable groups for the rapid discovery of missing persons and the apprehension of criminals.

At the project performance sharing meeting held on the 20th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluated the 10 local governments that had carried out the projects by combining resident voting and expert review scores, and as a result, Dongducheon City received the highest score and was awarded the Prime Minister's Award.

The Director of the Information and Communication Department stated, "As a result of the shared understanding and efforts by local residents, the police station, and private companies regarding the need for attention and protection of socially vulnerable groups, we achieved the valuable outcome of receiving the Prime Minister's Award," adding, "We will continue to promote the project to secure the golden time in the event of missing person incidents and strive to create a safe city where citizens can live with peace of mind."
