Mayor Kim Dong-geun, along with the Director of the Welfare Bureau, the Director of Minrak Dahamkke Dolbom Center, the Job Manager of Uijeongbu YWCA Women's New Employment Center, and 18 related department heads attended the meeting to discuss the direction of Uijeongbu City's women and child policy for 2025.
The city plans to hold public forums and talk concerts to hear diverse voices from citizens regarding women's policies, and in addition to the full-time jobs promoted so far, it will newly implement a short-term job matching project ranging from one day to within three months, which has seen increased demand due to childbirth and childcare reasons.
Furthermore, next year, the city plans to start operating integrated child care centers in the Heungseon and Howon areas and promote the establishment of child care facility cooperation districts (clusters) in the Singok and Songsan areas. Additionally, the city envisions creating a seamless care environment where children can be safely entrusted even in emergencies by operating daycare centers 24 hours a day.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “Supporting women's social and economic activities and providing care for infants and children is an investment in Uijeongbu's future,” and urged, “Please work hard to reduce the burden of child-rearing and create conditions where work and family can coexist.”
