On the 26th, Busan City and Busan Institute for Advanced Science and Technology Jointly
'Innovative Plans and Challenges for Promoting AI Autonomous Manufacturing in Busan's Manufacturing Industry'
Busan City and the Busan Institute of Science and Technology Promotion (BISTEP, Director Kim Young-bu) will hold the "5th Future Technology Innovation Forum of 2024" on the 26th at the Sapphire Hall of Hotel Nongshim.
Hosted by Busan City and organized by BISTEP, the Busan Future Technology Innovation Forum was established to derive mid- to long-term research and development directions and strengthen networks among stakeholders to foster promising future technologies and advanced strategic industries in Busan.
At this 5th forum, under the theme "Innovation Plans and Challenges for Promoting AI Autonomous Manufacturing in Busan's Manufacturing Industry," the latest policies and technological trends related to AI autonomous manufacturing will be shared, and Busan City's promotion plans will be discussed.
The forum's keynote presentations will include Kim Seong-ho, Head of the Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning, presenting on "Government Policy Trends and Current Status of AI Autonomous Manufacturing," Song Byung-hoon, Director of the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, discussing "AI Autonomous Manufacturing Technology Trends, Core Base Technology Cases, Field Application and Introduction Plans," and Won Jun-hee, Team Leader at BISTEP, introducing "Cases of AI Autonomous Manufacturing Research and Development Planning in Busan City."
Following the presentations, a panel discussion will be chaired by Professor Kim Ho-won of Pusan National University, with participants including Senior Research Fellow Koo Yoon-mo from the Busan Development Institute, Team Leader Yoon Sung-hwan of DRB Automation, Center Director Son Dong-seop of the Korea Institute of Robot Convergence, and Professor Yoo Nam-hyun of Gyeongnam National University. They will engage in a discussion on the theme "Innovation Plans and Challenges for Promoting AI Autonomous Manufacturing in Busan's Manufacturing Industry." Busan City and BISTEP plan to actively review the opinions raised during the discussion and reflect them in future AI autonomous manufacturing-related research and development and various projects.
The government announced that to expand AI autonomous manufacturing, it will launch the AI Autonomous Manufacturing Alliance in July 2024 and actively promote 200 leading projects by 2028. In Busan City, the "Busan Manufacturing Smart Expansion Strategy" was established in 2023 to revitalize Busan's manufacturing industry and create future new industries, with ongoing efforts in corporate support, research and development support, workforce training, and platform construction.
