Interactive AI Conan Chatbot Wins Grand Prize at Korea SW Product Quality Awards

AI software company Konan Technologies announced on the 21st that its conversational AI Konan Chatbot v3 won the top prize, the TTA Chairman's Award, at the 'Korea SW Product Quality Awards Ceremony.'


On the 20th, the Korea SW Product Quality Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA), was held at the TTA headquarters in Seohyeon-dong, Gyeonggi Province. This event, now in its 11th year, selects outstanding domestic software by evaluating product functionality and quality management excellence by software (SW) experts.


Konan Chatbot is a conversational AI applying deep natural language understanding technology. It guarantees a high response rate through hybrid conversational intent inference combining deep learning-based semantic matching and NLP (Natural Language Processing) technology, providing optimal results even for queries outside predefined scenarios. Its smart response processing, based on over 6.16 million entries in the largest domestic NLP dictionary, is a powerful differentiating factor unique to Konan Chatbot.


This award was achieved through fair and thorough evaluation across various criteria including ▲product excellence ▲product certification and verification ▲superiority compared to competing products ▲quality management system excellence ▲possession of testing environment. Behind its excellent quality lies Konan Technologies’ over 20 years of accumulated core natural language processing technology and AI understanding. By establishing a separate testbed for quality testing to create an independent testing environment, it obtained GS Certification Grade 1 in 2022. Last year, it also received CSAP security certification for cloud services in the SaaS sector.


Konan Chatbot is used by various government agencies, public institutions, companies, and educational institutions such as the National Tax Service, SK Hynix, Lotte Data Communication, the National Assembly Library, and Seoul National University of Science and Technology. The National Tax Service’s Hometax public chatbot service offers extensive consultation services including year-end tax settlement, comprehensive income tax, and value-added tax, and has been selected as an excellent business innovation case in terms of labor and cost reduction. SK Hynix increased system utilization and work efficiency through the adoption of Konan Chatbot, winning the 2020 IDC DX Award.


Recently, as companies’ demand for AICC adoption and 24/7 call center services has increased, chatbots have gained attention. Konan Technologies is expanding the scope of chatbot system construction based on the latest AI technology, including building the Police Agency call center.
