72% of Gyeonggi Residents Agree with Gyeonggi Office of Education's Future Education Direction

Seventy-two percent of Gyeonggi Province residents responded that they agree with the direction of Gyeonggi Future Education, which aims to expand the scope of public education. Additionally, 71% of residents evaluated that Gyeonggi Future Education will be effective in helping students grow into future talents.


The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced that, as a result of a telephone interview survey conducted from October 21 to 25 with 1,200 Gyeonggi residents aged 19 and older on the theme of 'Gyeonggi Future Education,' 72% of residents agreed with the direction of Gyeonggi Future Education. It also added that a positive outlook on the effectiveness of Gyeonggi Future Education in helping students grow into future talents reached 71%.

In this survey, residents identified the following policy tasks to be prioritized in Gyeonggi Future Education: ▲ Operating the Gyeonggi Future Education Curriculum that cultivates character and competencies (40%) ▲ Operating a region-based curriculum that is customized and offered according to students' needs (11%) ▲ Creating a school culture collaboratively developed by the educational community (9%) ▲ Expanding the autonomy of school management (8%).


Earlier, at a press briefing held on the 4th, Superintendent Lim Tae-hee of Gyeonggi Education stated, "Through Gyeonggi Future Education, which is attracting global attention, we aim to restore schools to their original state and expand public education through Gyeonggi Shared Schools and Gyeonggi Online Schools to lead students' growth and change." He emphasized, "Schools will become the center of all education, and by combining educational capabilities from the local community, out-of-school education, and online education, we will actively support education that leaves no one behind."


Meanwhile, this public opinion survey was conducted by Korea Research, and the sampling error is ±2.83 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
