The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Hansangwon) successfully held the 12th Gwangju Commerce Awards Ceremony in celebration of its 88th anniversary on the 20th at 4 p.m. in the chamber's 7th-floor main conference room, with over 150 local businesspeople, economic-related organizations, and association heads in attendance.

Marking its twelfth year, this event was organized to discover and commend individuals who have dedicated themselves to the development of the regional economy and the promotion of commerce and industry, offering appreciation for their efforts and fostering unity among members.

In his greeting, Chairman Hansangwon stated, “I pay tribute to those who have achieved outstanding results in various fields through relentless efforts despite the challenging economic conditions of global recession, high interest rates, high exchange rates, and high inflation. The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce will spare no effort to create an environment where entrepreneurs are respected and fairly treated by the local community, enabling businesspeople to shine even brighter.”

At the awards ceremony, the following individuals were honored for their contributions to regional economic development: Lee Youngwoong, Chairman of Regencyville Housing Co., Ltd., for Excellence in Management; Moon Jaewoong, Plant Manager of Kia AutoLand Gwangju, for Excellence in Employment; Yoo Guhyun, CEO of Korea Three-Axis Co., Ltd., for Technological Innovation; Park Junho, Head of CJ CheilJedang Co., Ltd. Honam Branch, for Regional Contribution; and Yang Woochun, Plant Manager of OB Beer Co., Ltd. Gwangju Factory, for Labor-Management Cooperation. Additionally, 12 exemplary long-term employees, including Jin Suon, Vice President of Damok Houses Co., Ltd., received commendations from the Chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce.

A representative of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce stated, “We will continue to actively discover businesspeople who have dedicated themselves to the development of the regional economy and widely publicize their contributions so that the morale of local businesspeople can be further boosted, with the chamber taking the lead.”
