The Model Uniformed Workers Award is given by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to honor uniformed workers who dedicate themselves on the front lines for public safety, aiming to boost pride, convey messages of gratitude and support, and promote a culture of respect for uniformed workers in daily life. This year, 75 firefighters nationwide were selected as model uniformed workers.

Fire Sergeant Kim Hyung-hoon is a veteran firefighter with over 30 years of experience who has taken the lead in protecting citizens' lives and property at various disaster sites. He established a customized 119 emergency call reception manual for vulnerable disaster victims, created an efficient on-site response system as an incident commander, and contributed to firefighting development by promoting facility environment improvement projects to enhance employee welfare.

Fire Lieutenant Park Yong-tae was the first in the nation to prove the fire risk of coffee roasters and strengthened fire investigation expertise by researching the fire occurrence mechanism and thermal runaway risks of electric vehicle batteries through electric vehicle fire forensics, thereby enhancing fire response capabilities. He also significantly contributed to community safety development by serving as the lead of the COVID-19 negative pressure ambulance team and actively working as part of the infectious disease-dedicated ambulance unit.
