According to Paju City on the 20th, at the Paju Jangdan Soybean Festival held for three days starting from the 22nd, the "15th National Jangdan Sambak Cooking Contest Honorable Mention Exhibition Hall" will be operated to showcase the dishes of this year’s cooking contest winners.

The "National Jangdan Sambak Cooking Contest" was organized to widely promote Paju specialties by developing diverse and distinctive local dishes using Paju Jangdan soybeans, Paju Gaeseong ginseng, and Hansuwi Paju rice, collectively called "Jangdan Sambak (長湍三白)."

At the cooking contest held last month on the 22nd at the Paju Gaeseong Ginseng Festival venue, 25 teams composed of participants from various sectors nationwide, including students, soldiers, housewives, and food service workers, competed, and 11 teams’ dishes were selected as award winners.

Paju City plans to promote Jangdan Sambak, Paju’s specialty products, by operating an "Honorable Mention Exhibition Hall" displaying photos and recipes of the winning dishes.

Every day at 2 p.m., the award winners will prepare their winning dishes and hold a tasting event limited to 200 people. At 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., free hands-on experiences for making Jangdan Sambak Gangjeong will be held, with up to 50 participants per session.

Meanwhile, on the 27th, cooking technique training for the winning dishes will be conducted at the Paju Jangdan Soybean Well-being Maru for representatives and workers of food hygiene establishments such as local restaurants and collective dining facilities. The dishes taught during the training will be Gaeseong Ginseng Yeon-gye Choe and two types of Jangdan Soybean Gaeseong Ginseng Tacos.
