The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (President Lee Hee-seung, KIOST) jointly signed a memorandum of understanding for the "Promotion of Marine Culture and Advancement of Marine Science and Technology" with the National Incheon Maritime Museum (Director Woo Dong-sik) on the 19th at the National Incheon Maritime Museum.

This memorandum of understanding was established to provide the National Incheon Maritime Museum with the research achievements accumulated by KIOST over the past 50 years in the field of marine science and technology, and to contribute to raising public awareness of the importance of marine science by integrating these achievements with marine cultural content.
Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to build a close cooperative relationship in areas including ▲ joint research collaboration on marine biology, ecology, environment, climate change, and deep-sea exploration ▲ sharing of marine academic research data, equipment, and cooperation in lending and donating artifacts ▲ joint planning cooperation for exhibitions related to marine science and marine culture ▲ collaboration in developing marine science education programs and co-hosting academic conferences ▲ exchange of professional personnel between the two institutions.
President Lee Hee-seung of KIOST stated, “We will strengthen cooperation to provide the public with diverse exhibition and experiential content that combines marine science and technology with marine culture.”
