Goyang City to Hold Public Auction of Seized Movable Property from Local Tax Delinquents on the 26th

Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 20th that, following last year, it will hold the 2024 Local Tax Delinquent Seizure Movable Property Public Auction event on the 26th at the Grand Ballroom on the 3rd floor of KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1, hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by Goyang City.

The items for public sale this time include a total of 835 pieces of luxury bags, luxury watches, precious metals, artworks, and more, seized through home searches of high-amount tax delinquents conducted by 35 local governments nationwide.

The city has continuously conducted home searches on local tax delinquents who have the ability to pay their overdue taxes but deliberately avoid payment or attempt to conceal assets. Through this, 75 items including seized Hermes shoes and belts, luxury bags such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton, Moncler clothing, precious metals, and 30-year-old Ballantine's whiskey have been put up for auction this time.

The bidding will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is only available to participants at the KINTEX auction site. It can be easily accessed via smartphones or laptops provided on-site.

The winning bid method is that the highest price offered above the minimum bid price (appraised value) for each item wins the auction, and the winning bidder will receive the item immediately upon payment on the same day.

An official from the Collection Division stated, "The items at this KINTEX auction were secured through home searches of chronic tax delinquents with low taxpaying awareness," adding, "We will continue to track down concealed assets of delinquents to expand revenue and take the lead in establishing a culture of sincere tax payment."
