A woman in China who already has nine children has attracted attention by saying she wants to "continue passing on her husband's good genes" and "wants to have more children to cover all the zodiac signs."
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 17th (local time), Tian Dongsai (33) from Zhejiang Province and her husband Zhao Wanlong (36) are preparing for their tenth child. The couple, who first met and married in 2008, had their first daughter born in the Year of the Tiger in 2010. Afterwards, they had twin sons in the Year of the Dragon in 2012, and by November 2022, they had a total of nine children, including their youngest son born in the Year of the Tiger.
Tian, who has four daughters and five sons, said, "I don't want to waste my husband's good genes," and "I want to have children representing all the 12 zodiac signs." Currently, they do not have children born in the Years of the Ox, Rabbit, Snake, Horse, or Sheep. Tian said, "Due to health reasons, I couldn't have a baby in the Year of the Dragon, so I am expecting a Snake-year baby next year."

Addressing concerns about 'child-rearing costs' raised by some, Tian emphasized that there is 'no problem' by revealing the professions of her and her husband. Her husband Zhao is the CEO and founder of an electrical equipment manufacturing company. Tian is the company's general manager. Their recent annual income reaches 400 million yuan (approximately 77.1 billion KRW). According to reports, the family lives in a 2,000㎡ (about 605 pyeong) villa, and the children are cared for by six nannies and a nutritionist. Tian further added, "I hope all my children will have nine children each, just like me," and "I plan to renovate the villa to accommodate all the grandchildren." If her wish comes true, she would have 81 grandchildren.
