Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 19th that it was selected as the best institution by ranking first among 31 cities and counties in the ‘2024 Gyeonggi-do Road Maintenance Evaluation’ hosted by Gyeonggi Province. With this, Namyangju City achieved the remarkable feat of being selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years.
This evaluation was conducted through on-site and administrative assessments across a total of 13 categories, including △road paving △structure repair △drainage facility maintenance △budget securing. The city received high scores by timely repairing and maintaining various roads and facilities to provide a comfortable and convenient environment for road users.
In particular, it received excellent evaluations for diligently carrying out flood damage recovery due to heavy rains and for equipment inspections and securing de-icing agents as part of winter snow and ice countermeasures.
To strengthen the professionalism and efficiency of road management this year, Namyangju City expanded and reorganized the dedicated road management department and established a systematic and organized management system by operating the ‘Road Management Office’ composed of three departments. The role of this dedicated organization contributed critically to improving the quality of road administration and receiving this top evaluation.
A Namyangju City official stated, “As a result of continuous efforts to provide citizens with a safe and pleasant road environment, we earned the honor of being the best among 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province this year,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to provide the highest level of road administrative services.”
