The university's Teaching and Learning Support Center is utilizing the existing ‘Stand Up! Learning’ and ‘Learning Mate’ programs to provide customized Korean language education and cultural learning for international students.
The program, newly developed to allow international students to learn Korean easily and interestingly, includes Korean language quizzes in the style of the popular TV program ‘Uri Mal Gyeorugi’ and word combination games, and runs throughout November. It is currently being conducted for about 120 international students across three departments, including K-Beauty and Electric Hydrogen Vehicle Engineering.
Subsequently, the university plans to provide systematic learning programs such as learning style analysis, study method guidance, and sharing of study know-how to support international students' smooth progress in their major degree courses.
Lee Sung-wook, Director of Academic Affairs, said, “As the number of international students visiting Gyeongnam Information University increases, we are expanding various learning support programs to actively support their successful study abroad life and settlement,” adding, “We will do our best to nurture resident international students to provide new driving forces for the Busan economy.”
