New Win-Win Growth Excellence Models Discovered
15 Cases Selected for the 2nd 'Win-Win Honors' of 2024
Fifteen outstanding win-win growth activities were selected as the second round of the ‘Win-Win Honors’ this year. The ‘Win-Win Honors’ are excellent cases of mutual win-win type win-win growth activities where large corporations and public institutions go beyond unilateral and benevolent business activities to gain mutual benefits as one team with partner companies, selected by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
On the 20th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups held the ‘2024 2nd Win-Win Honors Plaque Award Ceremony’ and presented plaques to large corporations, public institutions, and representative partner companies selected as Win-Win Honors cases. Those selected as Win-Win Honors receive benefits such as preferential treatment in win-win growth evaluations and issuance of preferential immigration cards along with the plaque.
Among the outstanding cases selected this time, LG Electronics and Semi Solution collaborated by combining their respective technological capabilities to create a business model that strengthened competitiveness. LG Electronics supported Semi Solution with costs and technical consulting for the development of core components for transparent displays, and Semi Solution succeeded in component development by securing related patents and intellectual property rights and hiring additional employees. Through this, LG Electronics was able to localize transparent display products using components developed by Semi Solution, securing product competitiveness through cost reduction and technological advancement.
In the case of Korea Expressway Corporation and D&S Technology, it is a cooperation case that led to win-win growth through mutual cooperation based on customized support for partner companies. Korea Expressway Corporation provided partner companies with professional personnel consulting, test beds, and infrastructure for facility construction, and D&S Technology established mass production facilities and filed patents and designs. This cooperation is expected to significantly reduce the cost and time required for handling traffic accidents for Korea Expressway Corporation. D&S Technology was able to sign construction contracts and create opportunities to enter new businesses.
Korea Western Power and Roas achieved new innovation and growth through data openness and technology sharing. Korea Western Power opened power plant data to Roas, and Roas developed a new technology-based AI acoustic industrial equipment diagnostic system using robots by utilizing the power generation data. Through this, Korea Western Power is expected to increase the prevention rate of power generation equipment failures, and Roas was able to achieve results such as increased sales and creation of intellectual property rights with the new technology.
Won Young-jun, Director of the Small Business Policy Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “In the recent environmental changes surrounding companies such as global supply chain restructuring and carbon regulations, it has become more important for large corporations, public institutions, and SMEs to work together from product development to overseas market expansion,” adding, “As the efforts of companies and institutions for win-win growth have been highlighted through this Win-Win Honors, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will continue to expand exemplary mutual win-win models.”
