Created in Junggok 4-dong and Hwayang Jangsu Senior Center idle spaces
Reborn as a space for young aspiring entrepreneurs
Affordable rent available for shared office use
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is establishing two 'Youth Startup Support Centers' to stably support the growth of young prospective entrepreneurs and is recruiting resident youth until December 1.
Existing startup support facilities primarily grant residency qualifications to entrepreneurs who have already established a certain foundation, making it difficult for young people dreaming of starting a new business to benefit.
In response, the district actively reflected opinions proposed by the youth network last May and has been working to create spaces for prospective entrepreneurs.
The Gwangjin-gu Youth Startup Support Centers are being created in two idle spaces: ▲ Junggok 4-dong Senior Center (39 Gil 57, Ginkgo-rang-ro, 3rd floor) ▲ Hwayang Jangsu Senior Center (36 Gunja-ro, 2nd floor). The facilities include shared offices (1- and 2-person rooms), various meeting rooms, OA (office automation) spaces, lounges, and other amenities to help youth share ideas and realize them in practice.
Resident youth can use the shared offices at a low rent of 30,000 KRW per month for single rooms and 50,000 KRW per month for double rooms without additional costs such as maintenance fees. They can also use startup-related equipment free of charge and receive various startup programs linked with the Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin.
In particular, Gwangjin-gu plans to introduce a 'Space Responsibility System,' providing allowances to youth participating in space management, supporting them to prepare for startups stably without economic burdens.
The recruitment of resident youth will take place from the 19th to December 1. Five people (3 teams) will be recruited for the Junggok 4-dong Youth Startup Support Center, and six people (4 teams) for the Hwayang-dong Youth Startup Support Center. Any young prospective entrepreneur residing in Gwangjin-gu or planning to register a business in Gwangjin-gu can apply.
For more information about the facilities and other details, please contact the Gwangjin-gu Office website or the Gwangjin-gu Office Job and Youth Division.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We established Youth Startup Support Centers in two senior centers to help young people grow and support stable startup preparation. Gwangjin-gu will listen to and communicate with youth and do its best to create a district where young people can start businesses easily.”
