Geochang-gun, 18th Child Abuse Prevention Day Commemorative Campaign

On the 19th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a joint public-private campaign in the Geochang-eup area under the theme of child abuse prevention to mark the 18th Child Abuse Prevention Day.

About 60 participants, including Geochang-gun officials, the Geochang-gun Child Committee, Geochang Police Station, Geochang Office of Education, Gyeongsangnam-do Western Child Protection Agency, as well as children and parents from Dongdong Daycare Center, took part in the campaign. They conducted a street march and operated promotional booths, carrying out various activities to raise awareness about the importance of preventing child abuse.

In particular, a special promotional performance prepared by the children of Dongdong Daycare Center delivered the child abuse prevention message with pure voices, creating a deeply moving atmosphere at the scene. After the performance, one child expressed, “I hope all my friends can stay safe and happy,” leaving a profound impression on the attendees.

Kim Myung-sook, Chairperson of the Geochang-gun Child Committee, stated, “Child abuse is not an individual problem but an issue that our society must solve together,” adding, “Through today’s event, I hope the local community will unite to take the lead in protecting children.”

Meanwhile, Geochang-gun is establishing a child abuse response system by appointing dedicated public officials and child protection personnel in accordance with the publicization of child abuse response. They are cooperating with Geochang Police Station and the Gyeongnam Western Child Protection Agency. Furthermore, they continue to strive to create a safe environment and improve the rights of children.
