Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that it will deploy specialized personnel such as odor monitors to conduct special surveillance and crackdowns on odor-emitting business sites.
Yeoncheon-gun plans to first select business sites that have received more than two complaints annually as the focus, inspect whether pollution prevention facilities are operating properly or pollution reduction management is being followed, and then conduct on-site inspections by collecting odors at the site boundaries and emission outlets (chimneys).
Next, dedicated odor monitoring personnel will be deployed to odor-related business sites to visit each site more than 10 times daily and 2 to 3 times weekly, performing real-time on-site management and prompt complaint response through continuous inspection of sealed operation management and pollution reduction management.
In addition, Yeoncheon-gun will operate a comprehensive control room within the Environmental Protection Division to fully respond to odor complaints and is promoting other real-time odor-related monitoring.
A Yeoncheon-gun official stated, “Through strengthened guidance and inspections, we will do our best to eradicate environmental damage to our residents and provide a more pleasant and clean environment.”
