As the divorce process of broadcaster Kim Byung-man has come to light causing a stir, his ex-wife A has presented a stance that contradicts Kim Byung-man's side.

On the 19th, in an interview with Sisa Journal, ex-wife A said, "I could no longer endure seeing Kim Byung-man make absurd claims such as the '3 billion won demand rumor' to cover up the assault incident. I want to clear my name as soon as possible," and handed over insurance subscription records, medical certificates, and recorded phone conversations. Regarding the suspicion that dozens of life insurance policies were taken out under Kim Byung-man's name, she denied it completely, stating, "That is not true at all. There are four policies such as cancer insurance that Kim Byung-man subscribed to before marriage, three pension insurance policies he subscribed to himself after marriage, and four life insurance policies subscribed together. The rest are home fire and automobile insurance," she claimed.

A continued, "Including these, there are 31 policies in total, but there are absurd claims that 'she secretly took out dozens of life insurance policies without her husband's knowledge,'" adding, "Kim Byung-man was the head of the household, and I am older, so I thought it was necessary to have insurance comfortably. Since entertainers have an unstable future, some policies were taken out as investments instead of savings." A said, "I swear I have never secretly taken out life insurance under Kim Byung-man's name even once," and explained, "At the time, due to a busy filming schedule, the insurance agent visited the KBS 'Gag Concert' filming site in person to get my handwritten signature. There is also a fact confirmation letter written by the agent."

Regarding the 3 billion won demand rumor, she said, "There was no fact of demanding a breakup fee," and added, "It was not about money but because I had no intention of breaking up." She pointed out about transferring money to her own account, saying, "Kim Byung-man is someone whose wish is to own a house in Gangnam. He was trying to buy a house in Gangnam with a deposit of 670 million won and a loan of about 300 to 400 million won, but suddenly I received text messages saying 'Bring it right away' and 'It's illegal,' which surprised me."

Furthermore, A claimed assault, saying, "Kim Byung-man grabbed my hair, strangled me, and kicked me with his foot," and "My daughter happened to wake up while sleeping and saw me being hit. Kim Byung-man threatened by calling my daughter's name and saying, 'Bring the lighter. I'll set it on fire.'" She added, "Since it happened years ago, I had to estimate the dates by looking for hospital records. It's not easy to remember exactly," and continued, "I acknowledge that he usually treated our daughter well. I endured because I thought it would be okay if only the violence stopped."

Earlier, on the 13th, Kim Byung-man's legal representative lawyer Im Sa-ra appeared on a YouTube channel and revealed, "A secretly took out dozens of life insurance policies under Kim Byung-man's name without his knowledge." Also, on the 18th, entertainment media Dispatch reported on the divorce process of the two, stating that A secretly withdrew about 670 million won from Kim Byung-man and spent over 3 billion won over 10 years.
