"Care for Neighbors, Report for Abused Children"
On the 19th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam conducted the campaign "Energetic Commute, Along with Child Abuse Prevention!" targeting city hall employees and citizens during the morning commute in the city hall lobby.
At the event, promotional materials detailing ▲the abolition of disciplinary authority under civil law ▲the ‘Positive Parenting 129 Principles’ for proper child-rearing ▲and guidelines for reporting child abuse were distributed to raise awareness and promote prevention and eradication of child abuse.
Additionally, from November 13 to 22, Changwon City is holding the Itopia Picture Diary Exhibition both online and offline to promote children’s rights. In observance of Child Abuse Prevention Week (November 19?25), from November 17 to 22, joint public relations activities involving the police, child protection agencies, and the Changwon Child Committee Council are being conducted in five districts including Sangnam Fountain Square.
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, “Through this campaign, we hope to protect children’s rights and spread a culture of positive parenting based on mutual communication and understanding between parents and children.” He added, “We will do our best to create a ‘Child-Friendly City Changwon’ where children can live safely and have their rights respected.”
