Uijeongbu-si Promotes Social Contribution Project for 'Creating Safe Stores'

With KB Insurance for Small Business Owners

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 19th that on the 18th, a delivery ceremony for KB Insurance’s “Creating Safe Stores” social contribution project and a store safety inspection were conducted at the Uijeongbu Jeil Market Prosperity Association office.

“Creating Safe Stores” is a new social contribution project by KB Insurance that supports small business stores requiring safety inspections due to aging facilities by checking key safety elements such as electrical wiring, gas piping, and fire-fighting equipment to prevent fires and various safety accidents, thereby helping to establish a safe business environment.

The delivery ceremony was attended by Jo Jin-sik, president of the Uijeongbu Jeil Market Prosperity Association, Yoon Hee-seung, head of the Management Strategy Headquarters at KB Insurance, and Lee Jae-cheol, head of the Corporate Economy Division of Uijeongbu City. Risk management experts from KB Insurance also participated to inspect the electrical safety management status of 10 stores within Uijeongbu Jeil Market and provide fire prevention education.

The city and KB Insurance plan to additionally inspect and support 10 more stores with reasonable prices outside the traditional market by the end of this month. In December, Mayor Kim Dong-geun will personally visit the supported stores to promote fire prevention during the winter season, spreading a culture of safety in the community and attending to public welfare.
