On the 19th, SK Gas announced that it signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Korea Post Logistics Support Group to jointly establish an eco-friendly LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) 1-ton truck ecosystem and support mutual growth for parcel delivery workers.

Through this business agreement, SK Gas and the Korea Post Logistics Support Group agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲ contributing to air quality improvement by building an eco-friendly 1-ton truck ecosystem ▲ supporting mutual growth to enhance the welfare of parcel delivery workers.

As the number one company in the domestic LPG industry, SK Gas will provide all necessary information to encourage affiliated parcel delivery workers to actively use LPG fuel through cooperation with the Korea Post Logistics Support Group, and will also strive to improve the welfare of parcel delivery workers. By offering various benefits based on a dedicated membership usable at over 800 SK gas stations nationwide, SK Gas plans to actively support parcel delivery workers operating 1-ton trucks by providing practical fuel cost benefits as partners for mutual growth.

The two parties have continuously discussed a cooperative relationship based on eco-friendly LPG 1-ton trucks. In May of this year, the Korea Post Logistics Support Group made a final decision to switch all directly managed vehicles to new LPG 1-ton trucks with significantly improved performance compared to existing LPG 1-ton trucks.

The new LPG 1-ton truck is considered more suitable than electric trucks in challenging environments where heavy cargo loads and winter transport are required, due to its shorter refueling time (3 minutes) and longer driving range (500 km). Weaknesses of the previous model, such as low power, fuel efficiency, and the production of only manual transmission models, have all been improved with strong power comparable to diesel 1-ton trucks, high fuel efficiency, and automatic transmission. Since the new LPG 1-ton truck emits less fine dust compared to diesel trucks, switching parcel delivery vehicles that mainly operate in residential areas to the new LPG 1-ton trucks is expected to contribute to improving the residential air environment. Fuel costs are also cheaper than diesel, making it an optimal alternative for parcel delivery workers.

Park Chan-il, Head of the Eco Energy Division at SK Gas, stated, "We will work together to build an ecosystem of mutual growth with parcel delivery workers and eco-friendly LPG 1-ton trucks," adding, "We will not hesitate to provide practical support through more active collaboration in the future."

Lee Ji-hoon, Head of the Parcel Business Department at the Korea Post Logistics Support Group, said, "We hope that this agreement will bring practical benefits to parcel delivery workers who plan to operate LPG 1-ton trucks and help create an eco-friendly mobility operation environment."
