Health Sleep Lecture by a Fellow from Seoul National University Hospital Department of Psychiatry (Sleep Medicine Center) at the Doksan 3-dong Community Center 4th Floor Auditorium on November 21
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that on November 21, a health lecture titled "Wise Sleep Habits" will be held in the large auditorium on the 4th floor of the Doksan 3-dong Community Center to promote healthy sleep among residents.
According to statistics from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, insomnia is a condition that nearly every modern adult has experienced at least once, with 33% of adults in Korea suffering from it.
In severe cases, insomnia not only causes difficulty sleeping but can also lead to various diseases such as obesity, depression, and anxiety, requiring proper treatment.
The district prepared this lecture to help residents understand insomnia and manage healthy sleep habits.
Dr. Kim Min-ah, a clinical instructor at the Sleep Medicine Center of the Department of Psychiatry at Seoul National University Hospital, will give a lecture on "Understanding Insomnia and Healthy Sleep Habits."
The lecture will emphasize the importance of sufficient sleep to maintain physical and mental health, as well as to enhance memory and immune function. It will also cover how to identify the causes of insomnia and ways to properly improve sleep habits.
Residents interested in the lecture can apply by visiting or calling the Doksan Health Branch.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "I hope this lecture will help residents who suffer from lack of sleep and insomnia due to staying up late at night," and added, "We will support residents in building immunity through healthy sleep habits and living energetic days."
This special lecture is the third health lecture organized by the Doksan Health Branch, and on December 5, the fourth health lecture titled "Life’s Strategy Time," about planning a healthy life, will also be held.
