SDT-Anion Technologies Establish Joint Venture for Superconducting Quantum Computers

Development of Fully Functional Quantum Computers
Targeting Supply to Korea, Middle East, and Southeast Asia

Quantum standard technology specialist SDT announced on the 19th that it will establish a joint venture (JV) with global quantum computing company Anion Technologies to build superconducting quantum computers.


With the establishment of this joint venture, the two companies plan to combine their technological capabilities and infrastructure to develop a complete quantum computer solution and supply it across Asia, including Korea, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. To this end, they will build a stable supply chain and manufacturing system centered in Korea.

Anion Technologies has been developing various advanced quantum technologies since 2021, including high-performance superconducting quantum processors designed to deliver scalability and performance in large-scale hybrid quantum-classical computing environments, on-chip control technology, and microwave quantum networking architectures. Through extensive research, the company holds various intellectual properties (IPs) in the field of superconducting-based quantum computing.


Yoon Ji-won, CEO of SDT, stated, “The establishment of this joint venture is significant as it lays the foundation for SDT and Anion Technologies to establish global leadership beyond Asia in the field of superconducting quantum computing,” adding, “Based on Anion Technologies’ unique IP and technology, SDT will lead all manufacturing and supply processes for the commercialization of superconducting quantum computers within the Asian region.”
